eCarExpo

BACKGROUND

eCarExpo is organized by eLife. It’s the Nordic region’s leader and the most comprehensive trade fair and meeting place for consumers and the car and electricity industries on electric cars, electric car charging and modern mobility. It has been arranged since 2016 in Gothenburg and Stockholm. In October 2020, a new hybrid fair (physical and digital) was launched in Stockholm for transport vehicles: TheeComExpo. From the start, Nowa’s specialists in PR in the car and mobility segment have been responsible for PR strategy, media relations and the trade fair’s Press office.

CHALLENGE

The development of the electric car industry has been rapid since the start in 2016, when the challenge was to create interest in the media and among consumers for electric cars and charging as a future concept. In 2021, the challenges lie in offering up-to-date and qualified knowledge and debate content to both the media and visitors, as well as having new communication solutions for the event when the pandemic’s restrictions change the conditions for trade fairs.

SOLUTION

Extensive media coverage and the presence of journalists, photographers and digital media at the electric car fair has been an important part of eCarExpo’s success. As a press department, we have consistently provided the broad spectrum of national, local, industry and online media with interesting reporting angles, exclusive interview opportunities and current news topics before and during the fair and handled and arranged accreditations, inquiries, interviews and press conferences.

RESULTS

The record figures for the press’ coverage of the latest trade fair at Friends Arena in Stockholm 7-9 February 2020 became clear proof that the media’s interest in eCarExpo and electric car development is growing strongly. 15,000 visitors, 105 accredited journalists (a doubling from 2019), about 150 articles, TV, radio, podcasts and social media features gave a publicity and PR value of SEK 23.7 million.
