THE CEO HAS SPEAKED

Improved margins and high growth characterize Q2 2022

With pandemic restrictions now completely lifted, the last part of our industry; events, has also taken off and we see a thriving and prosperous group continuing to grow with a focus on consolidation during the last quarter.

Consolidation has been important because high growth and several acquisitions in 2021 and Q1 2022 required time and energy to land and become a clear and secure part of the whole. The business otherwise continues to prove its existence as a group by continuously improving internal work and increasing turnover.

In addition to the onboarding of our previously completed acquisitions, we have made a new investment in Websearch Sweden and increased our ownership stake in the web agency Tigerton to 70%. With Websearch We are strengthening our offering in web, app and technology development, which is in line with our long-term strategy for the Group. I am convinced that these investments will give us very good returns in the coming years.

Steady order intake

In an increasingly turbulent Europe, with energy crises, inflation, heat waves and the threat of war, the Group notes that the diversified customer base and the many different service areas create a calm in the business. Our order intake is still stable and very little affected by the outside world at large. With our clear focus on creating business benefit, we see opportunities to take market share when customers in a downturn historically review the ROI (return on investment) they get on their investments. Our capabilities and offering thus become even more relevant. However, we are of course following developments carefully and are prepared to take action if and when we need to.

Economy in brief

I would like to highlight June with a few lines because June is normally a month with lower turnover than, for example, April and May. However, June shows a fantastic growth of +73% for the operating companies. As many as 4 companies show +100% growth. Even in comparison with the “Covid year” 2021, it is a strong performance. It is particularly fun with the company Prodekor which, with an increase of 237%, confirms that the event industry is back.

The quarter

With the fine month of June, we will have growth in the operating companies of approximately 20% pro forma compared to the same period last year and growth of a full 27% accumulated in 2022. During the second quarter, we have also strengthened our EBITDA margin in the operating companies to 6,7% (4,7%) pro forma, which gives an EBITDA margin accumulated for the half year of 5,9% (3,1%) pro forma. In SEK, turnover for the quarter will therefore be 96 million SEK compared to 80 million SEK last year, and EBITDA 6,4 million SEK compared to 3,8 million SEK last year.

This means that with strong growth, which normally comes at a cost in the form of lower margins, we are overall largely at planned margin levels. Finally, we would like to commend our new additions Websearch which delivers a very good result. A very good addition to the group both in terms of competence and revenue!

Increased synergies

The movement towards working more clearly towards ComTech, i.e. the increased IT, technology and web-based part of the business, continues to create synergies within the Group and towards the Group's customers. More and more customers are now working with e-learning, search engine optimization, digital purchasing, integration between different systems and online sales and development strategies. I am convinced that this trend will only continue to increase and I feel that we are well positioned to exploit the opportunities provided within the ComTech area.

The customer base is broadened

That customers feel satisfied, continue to buy and develop their work within the group is essential for continued success. We are therefore pleased that more and more customers are choosing to develop their business with Thinc, such as new customer Ica Reklam, which previously let the group assist with customer magazine production and which has now signed a framework agreement for expanded services. This summer's Almedalen is also a sign of increased trust, where, among others, Alektum Group, which previously hired parts of the group for various tactical and operational projects, now let Thinc contribute with strategy and implementation for PR in Almedalen.

The rest of the year

We are working hard to identify and start dialogues with companies that can strengthen our Stockholm office or additional technology companies or specialist companies in the creative sector. With a fantastic first half of the year behind us, I am convinced that despite many concerns in our environment, we can deliver on our long-term growth goals and approach the profitability targets we have set. Our exciting journey has just begun and I hope that you, as a customer, shareholder, entrepreneur or employee in one of our companies, want to be on board!
